Finished The Good Place

Me and my QPP finished The Good Place the other day!
We couldn’t find the whole series to stream anywhere and, even if we hadn’t seen the whole thing yet, we already knew we loved the show, so I just went ahead and pre-ordered the complete series on Blu-ray. It came last week and we binged it. Just watched episodes 6-12 at a time and finished the whole series in about 5-6 days flat.
I have to say, I loved every bit of the show and I’m so glad I got to finish the whole thing with her. It’s hard even now to pull in all my thoughts on what I loved and write them out in-depth, but I can say a few things.
First of all, all the characters were wonderful. I think this is one of the few shows where I fell in love with all the characters equally. It was amazing seeing them grow, get better, and gain more knowledge. I also loved how they all genuinely tried their best even if it seemed fruitless sometimes. I adored that by the end, they had gotten really close and devoted to each other like they were matching set. I really want them to just be in a big happy polyamorous relationship with each other with platonic, romantic, and ambiguous attraction for each other. I have to go see if there are any fanfics to that end.
Also, the twists in this show! Seeing the “This is the bad place!” reveal for the first time had us blown away. It was like the biggest plot twist since “Luke, I am your father!”. Rewatching the first two seasons again with the foreknowledge of the twist was still pretty cool. Nothing will be quite like the first runaround though.
Also the ending ðŸ˜! I didn’t start crying until Chidi said he was ready to go and then I lost it seeing Eleanor so scared and upset. It was also really nice to see Tahani get closure with her parents. Also, seeing a wrap up of the arc with Mindy was nice too although yikes with what happened to Derek. And it was cool seeing that when they went through the arch, they became “the little voice in people’s heads”; that was a nice final touch.
All in all, a really, really good show, I highly recommend it. It’s definitely made it into my top 5, that’s for sure.
Also, I’m serious about that polyamory network with the main cast, if I can’t find any good fics, I will have to make one myself.
